Below are promos, PSAs and other audio I've created for radio stations WHCM and WCRX.
"Harper Spring Film Series 2024 'Love & Hate' Promo" won 1st Place Best Station or Event Promo at the 2025 IBS Awards.
"The Night Shift on Harper Radio" won 2nd Place Two Year College, Non-Narrative Category at the 2024 BEA Awards. It promotes an original Harper Radio program block also created by myself.
"Global Tunes Marathon Promo" was created to celebrate the life of Jeff Waters, Harper Radio DJ who passed away in 2022.
My Radio Demo features audio work from my time at WCRX, Columbia College's Radio Station.
"Lost Legends: Death" was a mini-audio documentary I produced for WCRX focusing on the obscure punk-rock group, Death.

Videos

"Live @ WHCM | Naked Brunch" is a live concert I produced in April of 2024 with Chicago band, Naked Brunch. I was in charge of organizing the talent, staffing the event, hosting the event and then editing the video you can see below.
This video won 1st Place in the Broadcasting category at the 2025 Broadcast Education Association awards.

Matthew Byrne

To answer your first question: Yes, this is my everyday attire.

I am from suburban Illinois, a small suburban town called Rolling Meadows. It was at RMHS that I got hooked on improvisational theatre and pursued it further by enrolling at Columbia College Chicago. In 2022, I graduated with my Bachelor's in Comedy Writing & Performance and Voiceover. After that, I would go on to receive my certificate in Audio/Video Arts Technology at Harper College in 2025.

As a neurodivergent person who stutters, I found radio and comedy to be liberating spaces where I could express myself freely. Despite this disability, it has not hindered my quality as a artist, if anything it's made me more relentless.

I have interests in history, philosophy and the occasional one-liner. In my free time I like to read, conserve nature, listen to music, play tennis, and scour the internet for historical facts. I am an absolute freak for music history and classic rock, specifically my favorite band, Pink Floyd. I can talk about them for days so unless you've got time, don't ask.
